Paul J. Spannknebel Named Deputy Administrator at Idaho Division of Human Resources
BOISE, ID – (February 17, 2017) – Idaho Division of Human Resources Administrator Susan E. Buxton announced the appointment today of Paul J. Spannknebel as the agency’s deputy administrator.
Spannknebel fills the position left vacant by the departure of Kim Toryanski, a six-year DHR veteran who has returned to the private sector.
Mr. Spannknebel joins DHR after serving as administrator of Operational Services for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare for a decade. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Ottawa University and served in the Navy nuclear power program aboard the USS Nimitz and USS George Washington. Spannknebel is a certified Master Practitioner for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality testing, and is a board member for the State’s Certified Public Manager Program.
“In addition to his extensive background in State human resources, he also provides an enthusiastic and professional outlook to State training,” Buxton said. “My team and I welcome Paul and look forward to his contribution to our agency outreach.”
“I feel very fortunate to be selected for this opportunity. I’ve had a chance to meet and engage with the entire DHR staff over these past few weeks. I believe this to be one of the strongest DHR teams I’ve seen in my ten years with the State of Idaho,” Spannknebel said. “I see my DHW agency experience as a great addition to round out Susan’s team.”
