2026 Engagement Survey: What Happens Next?

Thank you to our  agency heads, HRO’s, and other designated leaders for encouraging participation in the 2026 State of Idaho Employee Engagement Survey. With the survey now complete, the next phase begins. Over the coming weeks, agencies will receive their survey results along with guidance and resources to help interpret employee feedback, identify priorities, and develop action plans that drive meaningful improvements.

What’s Next?

Mid-August | Agency results dashboards will be available to agency heads, HR Officers, and other designated leaders. Agency heads should work with their HR Officer to determine the appropriate level of access for additional leaders and submit any access requests through their HRO. The dashboards will include agency-specific results, filtering capabilities, and reporting tools to help leaders analyze employee feedback, identify trends, and prioritize opportunities for improvement.

To support agencies during this phase, DHR and our survey partner, Qualtrics, will offer office hours to provide guidance on navigating the dashboards, interpreting survey results, and answering technical questions.

Following the dashboard release, DHR will provide agency heads and HR with guidance and expectations for developing agency action plans. Action planning is a key component of the engagement process and helps ensure employee feedback is translated into meaningful improvements.

Agency leaders will be asked to:

  • Review survey results with their leadership teams.
  • Share appropriate results with employees.
  • Identify priority areas based on employee feedback.
  • Develop and implement agency action plans.
  • Monitor progress and communicate updates throughout the year.

The employee engagement survey is only the first step. The greatest value comes from using the results to drive meaningful conversations, identify opportunities for improvement, and take action. “We look forward to partnering with agencies throughout the action planning process and supporting efforts to strengthen employee engagement across state government.
